When parents only hear from you on WhatsApp
WhatsApp and Viber are fine for one urgent message. They are not a record of attendance, grades, or the timetable.
Once parents number in the dozens, the same facts get re-sent from the office's personal phone, with no record of who saw them.
This page covers what that workflow costs, what organized parent updates have to do, and how Paideus supports them with a login per parent.
What breaks when updates live on a personal phone
Grades and absences sit on a staff phone and with the messaging app's provider, not in the center's own record.
If that staff member leaves, the chat history leaves with them. The office cannot see what was sent.
The front desk answers the same question many times a day, because there is no place a parent can open on their own.
The wrong group, or a forwarded message, can show one student's details to another parent.
If attendance and grades are still in sheets, also see what breaks in Excel and a paper ledger.
What parent updates need
- A separate login per parent
- Visibility limited to their own child
- Grades, attendance, and timetable in one place
- Not a group chat for personal data
- The office knows what is published, not what was said in a private chat
How it works in Paideus
Teachers record attendance and grades. The parent sees them with their own login in the parent portal. That page is the product detail; this one stays with the problem it addresses.
Parent login
Grades, attendance, timetable, and balances, only for their child.
Attendance
An absence is recorded in the lesson and shown to the parent, without a separate message.
Gradebook
The grade stays in the gradebook. The parent sees it there, not in a screenshot.

Access and personal data
This is not legal advice. GDPR requires a lawful basis, data minimization, and a way to honor access or erasure requests.
A group chat that carries grades does not do that on its own: the data sits on personal devices, without a clear record of who saw it.
A login per parent that shows only their child is an access-control measure. It does not replace a privacy notice, roles, or a contract with whoever processes the data for you.
The privacy policy describes how Paideus handles personal data on the platform. It is not advice about your center.
FAQ
Does Paideus replace every WhatsApp message?
No. An urgent personal message can stay. Standing facts — a grade, an absence, the timetable — do not need to be re-sent in a chat.
Can a parent see other students?
No. The login is for their own student. That is an access limit, not compliance by itself.
Does the portal make me GDPR-compliant?
Not on its own, and this is not legal advice. You still need a lawful basis, notice to the people whose data you hold, and a process for access or deletion. The portal limits who sees what.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The parent opens their login in the phone browser, with no install.
